Mark Royal
Founder, CEO | PIE DevelopmenT
Mark oversees the myriad aspects and unique relationships of PIE Development’s services, while always looking to improve, expand and refine its proven processes and client experience. Over nearly 40 years in the healthcare real estate business, he has developed passion for improving healthcare. Mark’s determination to find solutions for the broken healthcare system in the United States is unwavering, born of having personally experienced the failings and challenges in healthcare delivery with family and friends. With his partners, many of these solutions are being developed and implemented.
Mark’s career spans consulting, strategy, transaction and development services for clients of all sizes… from small businesses, to exceptional healthcare developers, to large hospital systems, multinational corporations and international governments. His experience has been forged in multiple real estate cycles, handling more than $1 billion in varied real estate transactions, working nationally and internationally. He has specialized in both fee and at-risk development, structuring sophisticated transactions that create new capital for hospitals, and helping healthcare providers expand and defend their markets to deliver better patient care, cost-effectively.
Mark has co-founded several successful companies, and served in senior leadership positions at national and international real estate firms, earning a variety of awards for excellence, during his career.

Mark attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, and Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, majoring in English and Economics.
Roderick Bennett, M.D., MBA, FACEP
Chief Medical Strategy Officer | SOS Care Solutions
Dr. Bennett serves as a consultant to PIE Development bringing decades of medical expertise to inform PIE development’s healthcare real estate services. As an emergency medicine physician and an administrator, he brings both clinical and operational insight to PIE Development’s client services, as well as leadership to our healthcare strategies.
Dr. Bennett is founder and Chief Medical Officer of SOS Care Solutions, a high-acuity urgent and emergency medicine provider of home-based healthcare services. Dr. Bennett serves as the link between the real estate teams and the on-the-ground providers to guide the parties in working together to reach their common goals.
Prior to starting SOS Care Solutions, Dr. Bennett held numerous physician leadership positions, most recently as President of Innovitas Healthcare Solutions, a Tampa-based, medical consulting company that he founded, that helps health care entities and providers collaborate to discover innovative solutions for delivering high-quality patient care and promoting wellness. He has also performed research and provided medical and business insight on consulting projects for emergency departments, EMS providers, and EMS systems across the country, and is considered an industry expert in optimizing patient flow and patient satisfaction. He also served as a regional president for a large physician staffing company, his responsibilities included managing multiple physician service lines across multiple states for multiple hospital systems. This position provided him with extensive experience in not only emergency medicine operations but also allowed him to expand his knowledge base to include the operations of healthcare systems as a whole.
Dr. Bennett completed his undergraduate degree at Harvard University then received his medical degree at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans where he served as chief resident. Dr. Bennett also holds an MBA from Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College, in Winter Park, Florida.
ELEONORA ZASLAVSKAYA
CONTROLLER | PIE Development
Ella brings more than 20 years of accounting and financial experience to PIE Development. She is responsible for all aspects of PIE Development’s financial reporting, tracking, accounting and budgets. She oversees project-level accountants, budgeting and construction draws, and is a whiz at automation and process-improvement.
Prior to joining PIE Development, Ella has worked with several major corporations, including BlueCross BlueShield Association, MVP Workforce, RR Donnelley & Sons, Beam, Inc (Jim Beam), and Solo Cup Company.
Ella earned her undergraduate degree, in Finance and Accounting, from DePaul University, in Chicago, and completed her pre-medicine program at Northwestern University, in Evanston, IL.
